About BCPHIN
A Mino Care initiative.
Our mission
The Black Canadian Perinatal Health Information Network (BCPHIN) exists to bring scattered knowledge together. We connect researchers, clinicians, professionals, and advocates working to advance Black and racialized perinatal and reproductive health - and give them one organized place to find research, tools, data, and events, while contributing to a growing network dedicated to equity, collaboration, and change.
Join usWhy we exist
Finding reliable information about Black perinatal health in Canada is harder than it should be. The evidence is scattered across journals, databases, and institutions - and some of it has never been gathered at all.
That fragmentation slows research, weakens advocacy, and makes real disparities easier to overlook. BCPHIN was built to make the evidence base visible, searchable, and usable by the people doing the work.
What we do
Curated academic papers from Canada, the US, and the UK.
Practical resources and a directory supporting Black perinatal health.
Key statistics on Black perinatal health outcomes, gathered together.
A monthly feature, plus a board to discover and post studies and events.
Who it's for
And for the families and communities that work ultimately serves.
Our values
Four commitments that shape every part of the network.
We center the communities most affected by perinatal health disparities.
We prioritize accurate, well-sourced research and information.
We connect people and organizations rather than duplicate their work.
We make knowledge easy to find, understand, and use.
